Privacy Policy

🔒 Short version: Your data lives on your device. People Route never uploads your location history, notes, photos, or audio to our servers. We have no servers that store your personal information.

1. Who We Are

Big-Me Softwares develops and distributes People Route. This policy explains what data People Route collects, where it is stored, and what third-party services receive when you use the app.

2. Data We Collect and Where It Lives

Gender, interests, home locations Personalised AI suggestions On device only (UserDefaults). Gender and interests are included in AI prompts when needed. Home location labels/addresses/coordinates stay local and are not sent to Big-Me Softwares servers.

3. Data We Do NOT Collect

  • We do not operate any Big-Me Softwares servers that receive or store your personal data.
  • We do not collect analytics, crash reports, or telemetry without your explicit consent.
  • We do not sell, share, or rent your data to any third party for marketing purposes.
  • We do not track your location continuously or build a location history on our servers.
  • Your notes, satisfaction ratings, and visit history are never sent anywhere — they live only on your device.
  • We do not require app-level sign-in and we do not collect email/password credentials.

4. Third-Party Services

People Route uses the following third-party services. When you use features that depend on them, the relevant data is transmitted to those services:

  • OpenAI — Destination request text, voice transcription (via Whisper), voice profile transcript (via Whisper + GPT), place enrichment, Places Chat. Review OpenAI's Privacy Policy.
  • Google Places API — Your current coordinates are sent with each nearby search. Review Google's Privacy Policy.
  • Google Maps / Apple Maps — Opened as a separate navigation application. Subject to their own privacy policies.
  • Uber / Lyft (optional handoff) — Opened only when you tap those ride options. Destination details are handed to the selected provider.
  • Apple WeatherKit — Your current coordinates are sent to fetch weather conditions. Review Apple's Privacy Policy.
  • Apple StoreKit — Handles subscription purchases. Review Apple's Privacy Policy.
  • Apple Speech Recognition — Used for voice-to-text on the Quick tab. Review Apple's Privacy Policy.

5. Children's Privacy

People Route is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has used the app, please contact us.

6. Data Backup Files

When you use the Backup & Restore feature, a .qczip file is created on your device containing your saved places, photos, audio memos, preferences, and home address. This file is shared only when you explicitly use the iOS Share Sheet — it is never sent to Big-Me Softwares. Keep this file secure, as it contains your home address. The privacy warning is displayed prominently before export.

7. Explorer Exchange

When using Explorer Exchange to compare places with a friend, a data package is generated locally on your device and shared via AirDrop or the iOS Share Sheet. This package contains compare-safe fields such as place name, address/coordinates, category, visit count, and compare profile identity. It excludes private fields such as ratings, notes, photos, audio memos, and home address. No server is involved at any point.

8. Your Rights

Because People Route stores your data locally, you have complete control:

  • Access: All your data is visible in the app at all times.
  • Export: Use Settings → Backup & Restore → Create Backup to export everything.
  • Delete: Delete individual locations in the Saved tab. Delete the app to remove all local data.
  • Correction: Edit any saved place directly in the app.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The updated version will be available at this URL and we'll note the revision date at the top. Significant changes will be communicated in the app.
